Safe Haven is a safe and friendly service that you can contact for mental health support, a listening ear and signposting to further support.

About Safe Haven

Here at Safe Haven we are a warm and welcoming team that will provide empathy, support and safety to anyone over the age of 18 experiencing emotional distress and/or suicidal thoughts. You don’t need to be in crisis to access Safe Haven; we’ll support you wherever you are emotionally.

We will offer a safe space, a respectful listening ear and an exploration of coping strategies.

We can provide support through the means of:

  • face to face (appointment only)
  • telephone
  • email
  • virtually

We are open 5pm-10pm, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

We require contact before attending the building as we are not a drop in service.

Safe Haven - Peer Support Groups

Herefordshire Mind’s Safe Haven provides Peer Support Groups. The four groups are: Living with Anxiety, Exploring Mindfulness, What is Mental Health and Autism and Mental Health.

The groups allow individuals to come together and discuss their own lived experiences within a group who have a shared understanding. The groups can offer emotional support and can help people access other mental health services if they wish to.

The groups will not be a crisis service but requires booking for attendance.

 

About Safe Haven Peer Support Group

Living with Anxiety
This group will be six sessions long and we will be talking about anxiety, stigma surrounding our mental health, self-help resources and getting to know others with similar experiences to us.

Tuesdays – 6pm until 8pm

Exploring Mindfulness
This group will be eight sessions long and we will be talking about the history of Mindfulness, learning different Mindfulness practices such as breathing practices and movement practices. We will also look at how to apply these practices to our own lives.

This is an introductory course in Mindfulness and so no previous experience is necessary.

Thursdays – 6pm until 8pm.
