ArtSpace

What is ArtSpace?

ArtSpace is an exciting arts-based project which offers a safe space for people with mental health issues to work towards recovery and good wellbeing through art activities and peer support.

You don’t need to have any previous experience or artistic skill. The aim isn’t to produce a great work of art, but to use what you create to understand yourself better. Through your artwork, you will learn to build on your personal strengths and natural abilities and with the support of peers to become well, stay well, and make the most of life.

Our aim is to support people so that they can move on to greater independence, and possibly education or employment opportunities. However, there’s no rush and we will work at a pace that is right for you.

Hereford groups: Wednesdays 1:30pm - 3:30pm, and Thursdays 10am - 12pm and 1:30pm - 3:30pm

ArtSpace meets at the Hub for Hope, HR2 7SG. On your first visit, the group will welcome you and have a brief chat about your needs and expectations & to make sure that we are the right service for you.

We will be using a range of media including: painting, drawing, sculpture, glass painting, masks, mixed media, collage, charcoal, wire work and plaster of Paris. Each session costs £3.00, to cover the cost of materials.
