Herefordshire Mind has been named a finalist in the prestigious National Diversity Awards 2026, becoming the first ever local Mind organisation and the first Herefordshire-based charity to reach the finals.

We have been shortlisted in the Community Organisation Award – Multi Strand category, one of the most competitive and demanding categories in the awards. The award recognises organisations that can demonstrate meaningful impact across multiple areas of diversity, equity and inclusion, rather than focusing on a single protected or minority group. The nomination recognises Herefordshire Mind’s commitment to ensuring that everyone in Herefordshire can access Mind’s mental health
support, regardless of their background, identity, circumstances or location.

The nomination highlights our charity’s work with a wide range of communities, including Ukrainian guests, LGBTQ+ people, neurodivergent individuals, men, older adults, unpaid carers and residents living in rural communities.

To be recognised on a national stage for our commitment to inclusion is an incredible honour. We believe everyone deserves access to high-quality mental health support, regardless of who they are, where they live or the challenges they face. This recognition reflects the dedication, compassion and innovation of our staff and volunteers, who work tirelessly to break down barriers and ensure nobody is left behind. We are particularly proud that this nomination acknowledges the breadth of our work across so many different communities. Inclusion is not a project or a target for us – it is at the heart of everything we do. We are also deeply grateful to the members of our community who nominated us and continue to support our mission.
