The past couple of months have been an exciting time for Herefordshire Mind, during which we have been looking at who we are as an organisation and what we want to achieve in the future.
Lots of people have been involved in helping us look at what we should be doing as an organisation to make a difference to the lives of local people in the coming years. This has included service users, staff, volunteers and partner organisations. Now there is a chance for many more people to have a say.
We are really excited to be able to share with you our proposed Mission, Vision and Values.
Our vision is of a world where everyone gets the support and respect they need to achieve good mental wellbeing.
To help achieve this, we make it our mission to provide quality support, raise awareness and promote understanding about mental health issues. Recovery, wellbeing and inclusion are at the heart of all that we do.
We are (our values):
We are transparent and accountable in all that we do.
Working with others, we achieve more.
We listen to what people tell us and act on this.
We will use our independence to speak out on behalf of people with mental health problems.
We nurture creativity and innovation.
As an organisation, we think it is really important that we have a plan of what we want to achieve in the future. We call this our Strategy.
Between 2017 and 2021, we’re going from ‘Surviving to Thriving’ by working across 4 areas:
We will develop services and support that help prevent mental health issues, increase people’s resilience & support people to recover from their mental health issues and to achieve their full potential
We will raise our profile, expand our reach to new areas and promote volunteering.
We will ensure that our services are of the best quality, that we recognise the expertise of people with lived experience, that we are well led and we are a great place to work.
We will expand the places our funding comes from.
We want you to tell us what you think about our proposed Mission, Vision, Values and priorities. You can do this by taking part in a really quick survey. It will take no more than 5 minutes & really help us make sure that we have got things right.
If you'd like to help Herefordshire Mind achieve its plans for the future and make sure that no one in the county has to face a mental health problem alone, you can get involved locally or support us by making a donation.
