We are Herefordshire Mind, a local mental health charity affiliated to Mind; the leading mental health charity in England and Wales. We have been developing and delivering quality services with, and for people with mental health problems in Herefordshire since 1978.
We are here because we believe that everyone should have good mental health and wellbeing & that no-one should face a mental health problem alone.
Our vision is of a world where everyone gets the respect and support they need to achieve good mental wellbeing.
To realise this, our mission is to provide quality support, whilst raising awareness and promoting understanding about mental health issues.
Independent: we will use our independence to speak out on behalf of people with mental health problems.
Responsive: we listen to what people tell us and act on this.
Open: we are transparent and accountable in all that we do
Collaborative: working with others, we achieve more.
Creative: we nurture creativity and innovation.
Following consultations with our staff, volunteers and service users, we are proud to present our strategy for 2017 to 2021, 'Surviving to Thriving'. This contains our new vision, mission and values, as well as details of what we hope to achieve over the next four years.
Herefordshire Mind is committed to providing services of the highest quality. As such we are committed to achieving high standards under the Mind Quality Mark (MQM), a quality assurance framework which is endorsed by the Charity Commission. MQM was developed specifically for use with local Minds and provides a clear set of standards against which all local Minds measure their performance. Herefordshire Mind was last reviewed by the MQM team in March 2017.
We are committed to ensuring fair access to our services. We value diversity, promote inclusion and provide equality of opportunities at all times. We welcome people from any cultural or ethnic background, and will actively seek out under-represented groups. We undertake not to discriminate against any person on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, sex, sexual orientation, religion or belief. Our Equal Opportunities and Diversity Policy is available upon request.
The views and experiences of people accessing our services are vital aspects of service development. We regularly consult with as many stakeholders as possible, and through this input we are able to continually improve and develop the services we offer.
Our most recent Service User Satisfaction survey was completed in August 2017 and found that service users are generally satisfied with the support they received and feel that Herefordshire Mind is a place which they can rely on for support.
Since I have had support from Herefordshire Mind, I have been able to get on with my life, and they have helped me to rebuild myself as a person. Any help I have needed, they have been there.
